Devoe Beach, Indian River, Michigan

For Northern Michigan senior portrait photography, Devoe Beach is one of my favorite spots to capture memories. Burt Lake fills the background of the beach portraits, although for Hannah’s session it was a little foggy from the start. When you walk the pier, to your left is Burt Lake, and to the right is the Indian River. Both are a part of the Inland Waterway, a well kept secret of the Northern Lower Peninsula. Hannah brought along her german shepard pup, who couldn’t have been more cute!

Agnes Andreae Nature Preserve, Little Traverse Nature Conservancy

As you drive down Old Onaway Road in Indian River, you would not expect to come across this hidden gem. The Agnes Andreae Nature Preserve holds some of the most beautiful views in the area. The Pigeon River runs next to the near 4 miles of nature trails on high banks overlooking the river. A small foot bridge brings you to the trails. This is one of my go-to spots for hiking, dog walking, senior and family portraiture, and fly fishing. I wouldn’t be lying if I told you this is my favorite spot in the entire world. If you have the chance to visit, don’t pass it up!
