June in Michigan

Here in Northern Michigan, June is the first month when couples can plan weddings without having to worry too much about the weather (although you never know about Michigan weather!) . Forests turn green, trilliums bloom, and the temperatures are warm and mild. The rivers and lakes are just warm enough to swim in, and the mosquitos are just starting to hatch. Other than the mosquitoes, its really a beautiful place! I am excited for Taylor & Kent’s June wedding in Northern Michigan next year at Sonshine Barn.

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. To Be!

Meet Taylor, the beautiful bride-to-be, and Kent, the lucky guy! Not only are they seriously the cutest couple ever, but they are also high school sweeties! Come to find out, this photo shoot was a few days short of their 6 year anniversary. They have been engaged since March this year, when Taylor said yes in Key West Florida. Needless to say, they are going to make an awesome Mr. & Mrs in 2018!

Taylor & Kent introduced me to one of their old favorite spots called Ocqueoc Falls. Although I have traveled coast to coast, I had never been to this hidden gem! It’s actually kind of embarrassing because of how close it is to my home! We don’t have too many waterfalls in the lower northern peninsula of Michigan, and these waterfalls are only 40 minutes away from my house. I am really glad they picked this spot and showed me another beautiful Michigan destination.

Although we didn’t get to do the “Prom Photo Remake” sunset portrait, we had just enough time to capture these lovely moments before the rain started. I will be posting a follow up with the prom remake session later in July. Stay tuned for more of these two, and their unmatched cuteness!
